Great service! As soon as we sat down they brought chips and salsa and took our drink order. Food was delicious and so were the margaritas. The food came out fast and hot and they have a great kids menu. I will definitely be going again. The bathrooms were even spotless.

I am SHOCKED by the negative reviews. My boyfriend and I go here almost weekly. When my parents are in town from NYC, they always want me to take them here. The service is fast. The food is great. Try the tamales and the Chilaquiles...great plates. The staff is alway so sweet. Occasionally, they have a Mariachi band that walks through the restaurant and stops at the tables to play great music. I have NEVER had a bad experience here. Great food, great prices....oh and the Sangria is amazing.

This place is fantastic. If you see negative reviews check the dates like I did. Then go! I noticed the negative reviews were from a while back. Who knows, maybe they had some problems in the past. I absolutely LOVED the food and the service. The waiter was attentive. My food, veggie fajitas were piping hot and beautifully presented. The chips and salsa was great, as was the margarita. I have been to every Mexican restaurant in our area and this one is now the best so far and my new favorite. Lots of different veggies in the veggie fajitas without having to pay extra. GO!!!

My family dines here a couple of times a month. Anything we order has always been good. Service has always been good. Prices are comparable for what you get. Wish they had more desert options. I would recommend it to anyone.

The food is decent here and the drinks are, more or less, priced fairly. The only thing to beware is the accuracy of the bill. They don't itemize the bill very well, instead presenting a list of numbers with nothing to indicate what dishes/items the numbers denote. I have found numerous inaccuracies with the bill where they had over charged me for side dishes such as chopped tomatoes etc. One time they brought a pint of beer that was only 12 oz. The waiter, perhaps owing to language barrier, didn't understand and I had to speak with the manager who comped me the drink. Little things but can can get annoying when you are simply trying to have a good time dining out.

I grew up on El Rancho Grande and I loved it!!! Ever since moving to KY, there aren't any of them close to me. No other Mexican restaurant stands up to my high expectations and I pretty much just quit eating Mexican food, until I found Cancun. My fiancé is from the west side so he grew up on Cancun and swore by it. The food is always great and the service is always fast and friendly. I love the fajitas but the enchiladas are awesome too. Be careful with their margaritas because they definitely make them strong!!

Newly opened in Crescent Springs.... Cancun menu is your typical TexMex style of Mexican restaurant. You wont find Braised goat, Menudo. However, there are some items on the menu other than burritos, tacos and enchiladas. Despite the "typical" nature of the menu, I give it one star above average because the food is tasty, the prices very reasonable, the decor is fresh, the place is roomy and the waitstaff is FANTASTIC ! It is definitely at the high end, of this class of "Mexican" restaurants.

I stopped in to Cancun the day for lunch as I had been curious to try it since seeing them open. Upon arriving I was quickly seated and brought my drink of choice. After looking through the menu which has most of your standard fare with some house specialties I chose the Hot and Spicy Burrito off of the lunch section. I tend to judge a Mexican restaurant initially based upon their salsa and theirs did not disappoint. The table salsa was a basic blended salsa with a nice medium heat and great flavor and the chips were crisp, fresh and tasty. I always request the picante salsa when visiting a Mexican restaurant to get the special house made hot stuff, theirs was really tasty with a strong heat and good burn and lots of good smoky peppery goodness. Mix it with the table salsa for a nice little kick and douse it on your food to heat things up. If you like it hot make sure to request a bowl. The burrito came in record time, say 3 or 4 minuted and was properly devoured. All in all the food was fresh and tasty and the price was right, under $7 for a filling lunch and quick attentive service. I will definitely put this one into rotation.

For inexpensive Mexican, this is about as good as it gets. You can tell they actually cook their food, not reheat and serve dry nasty processed junk. The slow cooked chicken in my flautas was divine. The home-made flan was delicious. Great service, clean, accessible, prompt and friendly.

Wow. There are only a few good Mexican restaurant choices in the Cincinnati area, and this is not one of them. Food and service are awful. Third and last time for us. With the choices around this place, they won't be here in a year or at least I hope so that people don't think Mexican food is supposed to taste like this. Stay away from this place, if you are in the area, go to Guru India or grand view tavern or Miyako. Do yourself a favor stay away.

Overpriced. Greasy. Small portion sizes for the prices charged. Much better options in northern ky in my opinion.

Waiter was HORRIBLE, took over an hour to get and out, and the place wasn't even crowded. If you're on your lunch break, DO NOT go here. Food is just like every other Mexican restaurant.

Cancan is a solid addition to the area. I don't pretend to know what authentic Mexican food is like, but Cancun represents exactly what my wife and I want at an inexpensive Mexican meal. The restaurant is very clean and the service was very friendly and quick. I suspect that Cancun will enter our monthly rotation of restaurants, and this is a dramatic improvement over the place down the street.

Loved the Margaritas and they have good Happy Hour prices. The service is excellent , quick and friendly. The Decor is nice and the place seems cleaner than most. My enchalatas were great and the prices were fair. I enjoyed it so much that I purchased a gift certificate for some " Mexican food-loving". friends. Cancun is a welcome restaurant addition to the Ft Mitchell area!

My favorite Mexican restaurant. The food actually has flavor, and isn't just a pile of red sauce and cheese! Gasp! The service is usually very good, but on a Friday or Saturday night it's going to be packed, so it's going to be a longer wait than usual. The free chips and salsa are among the best I've ever had, and the margaritas will knock your socks off, they are strong! Get the Hot n Spicy burrito, it's not really that spicy, but it's quite unique and yummy.

Just got back from lunch. This place just opened in early October so everything is still clean and new. Service was good and quick. Food was OK, but nothing spectacular...I mean for the most part if you've seen one Mexican restaurant's food and menu, you've seen most all. Prices were pretty good. I had the lunch chicken taco salad. It was tasty, but pretty much on the skimpy side as far as portion size goes. Overall, it was OK but nothing that really sets itself apart from other similar restaurants.

I enjoyed this restaurant for lunch. The staff was fast and friendly. The food was well prepared and reasonably priced. It's your typical americanized Mexican food so don't expect any fancy gourmet dishes. They have great happy hour specials. (See picture) Unfortunately I was only there long enough for lunch. There are plenty of tables for varying party sizes with Latin music playing over the speakers. It is well decorated with hand painted wall murals, faux stucco walls and columns, and decorative brick work. The staff all wear matching burgundy shirts and black pants. I would come back here for lunch, dinner, and especially happy hour! I also spied a frozen margarita machine in the bar with lots of different tequilas on the wall above.

Cancun offers pretty standard Mexican fare. There is neither anything remarkable or nor fortunate about the food. Service is always quite friendly, and the atmosphere is colorful and clean.

I went here last Sunday with my mother and sister for lunch, and boy was it a treat. The food was great, served quickly and the price was very reasonable. The amount that you get and the friendly service guarantees that I will be coming back again, and again.

Fabulous (and dangerously strong) margaritas! I'm a big fan of the Pollo a la Cancun, which is grilled chicken, chorizo and zucchini smothered in queso (what's not to love?). My husband loves the chorizo quesadilla. This may not be the most authentic Mexican restaurant in the world, but it's the best one we've found in the area. It took us a long time to find quality Mexican food up here, so we are loyal to Cancun!

I love this place. Service is great, prices are totally reasonable, food is delicious, place is always clean. The steak fajita nachos are my fave.

It's like a party in your mouth. Cancun is authentic Mexican food, with good atmosphere and service. There's a bar area, and a pretty deep menu. Fajita nachos came with a ridiculous amount of steak, it was very impressive. Floors are slick for some reason, so watch out. Everything else? Aces.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
